| ASSENOVA KREPOST JSC, Assenovgrad was established following a series of reformations and different names of the state owned company during the period 1964 1991. The company has expanded at three stages since its establishment in 1964 until now: |

| The first enlargement was in 1971 1974 with the production of the Bulgarian prototype equipment. It comprises the production of polyethylene films, bags and polyethylene small articles wrapping. |
|
The second enlargement was in 1979 1981 with the introduction of new extruding equipment and sealable technique from Germany , The Netherlands and Italy . |
|
| The third stage of the renovation was after 1989 with heavy-duty extruders O 120 designed for films and bags - own production, printing machines from Italy and Germany and equipment designed for the weaving production.; |
|
| The manufacturing of biaxially oriented polypropylene film cellophane, started in 1987 1988. |
|
| In 2000 2004 about 30% of the technical equipment was renovated. Modern installations were introduced for the production of woven coated AD*STAR bags, 8-colour flexo print and synthetic thermoshrinkable multi-layer casings Assenoflex. Together with the enrichment of the articles' range this gives our company the opportunity to extend its market share. |

| Following the transformation of Assenova Krepost into a joint-stock company in 1991, the firm was completely privatized in 1997. |

The annual production capacity of the company is:
- Polyethylene articles over 40 000 tones
- Biaxially oriented polypropylene film 2 500 tones
- Woven PP bags 40 000 000 pieces
- PP twine for baling 3 500 tones
- Other polypropylene articles 4 000 tones
- Flexible containers 2 000 000 pieces. |
